Previous College: Attended South Plains College. A three-time NJCAA All-American in the hurdles for the Texans.
High School: Earned four letters and captained two seasons for coach Joe Mercado at Baldwin High School. Won all-state honors in 400m hurdles, finishing second in the 2007 state championships. Set three individual school records and was part of two relay records for the Bruins.
Personal: Born December 15, 1988. Son of Alan Beckford and Karlene Welsh. Has two brothers (Isaiah, Xavier) and two sisters (Alexandra, Elisha). Enjoys soccer and lists Pele as his favorite athlete. Favorite food is jerk chicken. Favorite movie is Coming To America. Majoring in social science.
