
Four Bulls Make UB History at Bucknell’s Bison Outdoor Classic

LEWISBURG, PENN – The University at Buffalo track and field program competed at Bucknell University's Bison Outdoor Classic on Saturday. The Bulls sent select distance runners to the competition, highlighted by four performances that joined the program's outdoor record book.
Noah Brightman and Vincent Guaresimo both posted personal record performances in the men's 1,500-meter. Brightman's time of 3:46.89 took 13th of 86 runners. The performance was a new personal record for the senior, ranking third in program history to only Ben Crimmins (3:42.66, 2016) and Evan Hilbert (3:42.64, 2023). Guaresimo's time of 3:50.02 placed 31st and earned the eighth spot in program history.
Vassi Klock and Bronagh Cassidy continued the program's momentum in the women's 5,000-meter invitational. Klock led the way to finish 19th in a field of 65 runners with a time of 16:49.03. The senior's time ranks third in UB outdoor history, also becoming the third runner in program history to break the 16:50.00 mark. Cassidy trailed to place 21st with a time of 16:54.50, ranking seventh in UB outdoor history. Brianna Urban rounded out the Bulls' competitors in the event, finishing with a personal record time of 17:38.85. The time surpassed Urban's previous best of 18:49.47 by over a minute.
Aidan Norris placed fourth of 155 runners in the men's 800-meter with a season best time of 1:49.73. Norris was just shy of his personal best that ranks fourth in program outdoor history (1:49.50). Michael Huebner placed 32nd in the event with a personal best time of 1:53.54. Nicholas Morgan had a personal record time too, finishing 57th and completing the event in 1:54.85. Morgan surpassed his previous personal record by nearly two seconds (1:56.22). Fernando Sanchez (118th, 1:58.16) and Kevin Sherry (123rd, 1:58.45) also competed for the Bulls.
Meghana Reddy placed 30th of 148 runners in the women's 800-meter with a new personal best time of 2:14.79. The sophomore was under four seconds shy of reaching the program's all-time record book (2:11.13). Juliette Salazar also competed, placing 54th (2:17.04).
Ella Reilly finished the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a personal best time of 11:09.76, crushing her previous record of 11:32.55. The sophomore placed 15th of 55 runners. Katie Edinger was next to place for the Bulls, taking 29th with a time of 11:33.55 in her event debut. Lexi Bernard rounded out the program's competitors (49th, 12:11.34).
Luke Stoeffler was the program's top finisher in the men's 5,000-meter invitational, finishing 29th with a personal record time of 14:37.34. Stoeffler's time was 10 seconds shy of the program's all-time top 10 (14:27.35). Cameron Bogdan also competed, placing 42nd with a time of 14:41.64.
Fiona Klingbeil placed 18th in the women's 5,000-meter with a time of 18:07.53. The freshman earned a top 20 placement in the field of 53 runners.
In the men's 10,000-meter unseeded event Connor Domoy (8th, 31:34.89) and Chris Turner (12th, 32:10.49) earned top 12 placements in the field of 30 athletes. Turner's participation marked his event debut with the program. Matt Gensel competed in the men's 10,00-meter invitational, placing 40th with a time of 31:03.23.
Jacqueline Appenheimer placed 67th in the women's 1,500-meter invite with a time of 4:40.06. Appenheimer's time was a season best. Sophie Brettholtz trailed in 70th with a time of 4:41.80. Brettholtz's time was just shy of her personal best (4:41.60). Reese Wilber rounded out the Bulls competitors in 77th, posting a personal best time of 4:45.45.
