McDonald To Represent Bulls at LaChica’s Global Sports Business Immersion Program
10/6/2026 9:44:00 AM | Track and Field
BUFFALO, NY – Amber McDonald of the University at Buffalo track and field program is heading to London, England, for an experiential learning opportunity at LaChica's Global Sports Business Immersion Program. The experience is designed to expose women to the broad range of career pathways within the global sports industry. The program provides participants with real-world experience, access to industry professionals, and opportunities to connect with strong female leaders in sports business, helping accelerate pathways for women pursuing careers in the industry.
"As someone who aspires to have a career in sports, I am beyond grateful for this opportunity to experience sports internationally," said McDonald. "I am excited to gain first-hand insight into the sports industry from a global perspective and add to my leadership toolkit."
LaChica chose McDonald because she has distinguished herself as a leader beyond competition at UB. She has been actively involved with the Stronger Together Task Force and Black Student-Athlete Association, helping create opportunities for connection, leadership, and belonging within the UB Bulls community. In May, she also represented Buffalo at the Black Student-Athlete Summit, continuing to expand her leadership experience and professional network.
"This is an incredible student-athlete development opportunity for Amber to learn from women leading within the global sports industry while also bringing her own perspective as a Division I student-athlete and campus leader at Buffalo," said Dr. Melanie Bliz, Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Enrichment. "We are excited for her to represent the Bulls in London and look forward to hearing about the connections she makes, the lessons she learns, and how she brings those experiences back to our student-athlete community."
