Senior (2025-26): Named All-MAC Second Team for the indoor season, helping the Bulls to a second place finish at MAC Indoor Championships in the men's distance medley relay (10:07.91)...broke the program's mile school record with a time of 4:03.62 at Boston University's David Hemery Valentine Invite...joined the program rankings at 10th in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:28.78 at the Penn State National Open...qualified for the finals of the 800-meter dash at MAC Outdoor Championships, finishing ninth overall with a time of 1:57.25...preliminary round time of 1:50.12 in the 800-meter at conference championships joined the outdoor program ranks at sixth...set a personal best 1,500-meter time of 3:46.89 at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic to rank third in program history.
Junior (2024-25): Did not compete in indoor or outdoor track and field season.
Sophomore (2023 - 24): Won a gold medal at MAC Indoor Championships as a part of the Bulls' distance medley relay team (9:56.10)...finished fifth at MAC Indoor Championships in the mile with a time of 4:14.80...brought home a bronze medal at MAC Outdoor Championships in the 1,500 meter with a personal best time of 3:47.14 which joined the UB all-time outdoor ranks as third on the leaderboard...set a new career best time in the 800 meter with a time of 1:53.08 at the Bison Outdoor Classic...was a part of the Bulls' season best outdoor distance medley relay team at the Penn Relays (9:43.14), winning the event at the country's premiere outdoor meet...ran a career best mile time at the Akron Indoor Invite (4:12.99)...set a personal best 3,000 meter time at the SPIRE Indoor Games (8:33.12)...had a season best time of 2:29.38 in the 1,000 meter run at the Penn State National Indoor Open.
Freshman (2022 - 23): Set the eighth ranked time in UB indoor history for the 1000 meter run.
High School: Finalist in the 800 meter New York State Track & Field Championships...broke ten school records at his high school.
Personal: Son of William Brightman and Celeste-Choma Brightman...has four siblings, Caleb, Seth, Sascha, Illana….. chose UB because he was looking for a program with a good team culture and a strong academic school with a variety of majors...inspired by his family because of their support and belief in him and his goals...enjoys playing basketball with younger brothers...favorite athlete is Aaron Judge because he is humble in the spotlight...favorite movie is The Blindside...can't live without a good steak.
