Bulls Welcome Le Moyne to Alumni Arena on Saturday

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's basketball team returns to Alumni Arena for a two-game homestand to close out non-conference play, beginning with a contest against in-state foe Le Moyne on Saturday at 2pm. The Bulls are 5-0 at home this season.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with Paul Peck (play-by-play) and Matt Mattia (color) announcing and can be heard on the radio on 1520 AM or on the Varsity Network with Jack Kreuzer on the call.
This is the eighth overall meeting between Buffalo and Le Moyne but the first in UB's Division I era. The Bulls are 31-3 all-time against opponents from the Northeast Conference.
Buffalo outscored Drexel in the second half, but the rally fell short in a 65-57 loss to the Dragons last weekend. Redshirt senior guard Chellia Watson led UB with 25 points while freshman Kirsten Lewis-Williams added 13 points.
The Bulls are balanced offensively with four players averaging in double figures, led by Watson at 20.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. Lewis-Williams currently ranks second in the MAC in scoring (12.4 ppg) and 10th in rebounding (6.0 rpg) and is first amongst all rookies in the league in both categories. Sophomore Hattie Ogden (9.5 ppg, 5.9 rpg) and senior Rana Elhusseini (9.4 ppg, 3.1 apg) have also made been a consistent scoring threat for UB.
As a team, Buffalo leads the MAC in field goal defense (.375) and is ranked in the top three in scoring offense (67.9), scoring defense (62.1), scoring margin (+5.8), field goal percentage (.443), rebounding defense (35.5) and rebounding margin (+0.9).
The Le Moyne Dolphins are 1-8 overall after defeating/falling to Colgate 65-57 on December 8. The Dolphins are led offensively by senior guard Lytoya Baker is averaging 12.3 points and 7.7 rebounds per game while also adding a team-best 1.8 steals per contest. Le Moyne returns eight players from the 2022-23 squad, including four players who started all 28 games, and one player who started 19 games, while adding five new players to the roster. The Dolphins are in their first season as a Division I member of the Northeast Conference. They were picked to finish eighth in the NEC preseason coaches poll. The Dolphins are coming off back-to-back Northeast-10 Conference Regular Season Championships and consecutive appearances in the Division II NCAA Championships.
