TEMPE, AZ – The University at Buffalo women's soccer team (2-2) fell at Arizona State 5-0 on Sunday afternoon.

Buffalo had a pair of good looks in the opening 20 minutes of play as Laiken Kiser found space and ripped a shot on target that was saved. Later, Sofia Mastracci made a great run up the field and fired a shot in stride that was saved by Kennedy Zorn and then fired the rebound back on target, but Zorn made another save.

The Sun Devils broke through in the 24^th minute as Miki Hayashi found space and drilled a shot into the top left corner of the net to give the Sun Devils a 1-0 lead.

Buffalo looked to create off the kick as Emma Patti got the ball at the top of the box and chipped a shot over her defender, but Zorn made the save. The hosts then countered less than a minute later as they took advantage of a UB miscue on a clearance and Ella Kettles made them pay, ripping a shot from the top of the box that Lexie Thompson got a glove on but couldn't make the save, as ASU went up 2-0.

Arizona State would add two more before the half, scoring in the 37^th minute before drawing a penalty in the box in the 44^th minute and capitalizing on the ensuing penalty kick to take a 4-0 lead at the break.

Buffalo had a pair of scoring chances early in the second half as Mastracci played a ball out wide to Adriana Victoriano who shot across the box and then the Bulls made another run a couple minutes later as Victoriano played it to Mastracci who didn't get all of her shot attempt and Kiser was there for a rebound shot but it sailed wide and out of play.

The Sun Devils would then add another goal in the 67^th minute to seal the victory.

Arizona State outshot the Bulls 25-9 on the day, including a 12-4 advantage in shots on goal, and an 8-4 edge in corner kick opportunities. Thompson made six saves for the Bulls while Zorn made four stops for the Sun Devils.

Up next, Buffalo will return to the friendly confines of Broadview Stadium to host Binghamton on Sunday, August 30 at 1pm.
