Box Score

OXFORD, Ohio – The University at Buffalo women's soccer team (4-3-4, 1-1-2 MAC) played to a scoreless draw at Miami (OH) on Thursday night.

The RedHawks were the aggressors early on as they earned four corner kick opportunities in the opening 10 minutes of play, with a shot off the cross bar and then later, on a second attempt, Lexie Thompson leaped up and knocked the ball away a few minutes later.

Buffalo recorded their first shot of the game in the 30^th minute as Adriana Victoriano played a shot on target, but Dominique Popa was there for the save, and the game would remain scoreless at the break.

After a slow start to the second half for both teams, Stephanie Tator found space in the 70^th minute and fired a shot, but Popa made the save.

Miami had the best scoring opportunity of the night in the 82^nd minute as Averie Bierker slid a pass across the box to Katie O'Malley who one-timed a shot but it sailed high and over the crossbar. Senior Laiken Kiser looked to answer a minute later for UB as she drilled a shot from outside the box, but it too sailed high and out of play.

Buffalo had one last chance in the 88^th minute as Kiser played a ball into the box that was knocked out to Mae Hunt who ripped a shot, but it sailed wide and the game would end in a draw.

The RedHawks outshot the Bulls 10-6, including a 3-2 edge in shots on goal, while also maintaining an 11-2 advantage in corner kick opportunities. Thompson made three saves on the day, while Popa made two stops for Miami.

Up next, Buffalo will return home to host Ohio on Senior Day at Broadview Stadium on Sunday at 1pm.
