BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo women's soccer senior Eva Blatz has been named the Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Tuesday afternoon.
It is the second weekly honor for Blatz and third for the Bulls this season.
The Bethel Park, PA native continues to prove her worth as a two-way player as she scored the game-winning goal in the 62nd minute while also helping to hold the Cardinals to just four shot attempts in a 2-0 win at Ball State in the season finale on Sunday. It was Buffalo's league-leading 10th shutout of the season. Blatz, who was a mainstay in the UB midfield throughout her career in the blue and white, set career-highs in goals (3), points (7), shots (24) and minutes played (1,410) this season.
