BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo women's basketball head coach Kristen Sharkey has announced the signing of Buffalo native Gabby McDuffie to the roster for the 2025-26 season. She has one season of eligibility remaining.
McDuffie, a 5'8 guard, returns to Western New York after one season at Edinboro University where she appeared in 38 games, starting 26, and averaged 10.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game while shooting 41% from the field, 36% from three-point range and 84% from the line as a senior to help lead the Fighting Scots to a PSAC championship game appearance and the top seed in the NCAA Atlantic Regional.
Prior to Edinboro, McDuffie played two seasons at Daemen University, where she helped lead the Wildcats to two-straight East Coast Conference regular season championships, two ECC tournament titles and two NCAA tournament berths, including a NCAA Tournament East Region championship in 2024. As a junior, she started all 31 games, averaging 10.3 points and 4.6 rebounds per game, scoring in double figures 17 times, including two 20+ point performances. As a sophomore, she appeared in 25 games, averaging 6.4 points per game while adding 69 rebounds, 25 steals and 29 assists.
McDuffie started her collegiate career at Niagara County Community College where she started 33 games, averaging 15.4 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game while shooting 44% from the field.
McDuffie graduated from Frederick Law Olmstead where she was a 1,000-point scorer for the Owls basketball team while also playing five years of varsity softball.
"Gabby is a local standout whose journey through Edinboro and Daemen has shaped her into a complete, battle-tested player," said Sharkey. "She brings toughness and heart to every play, scoring in multiple ways, rebounding, running the floor, and defending with intensity. As a sixth-year player, she brings invaluable leadership and a deep understanding of what it takes to be a great college student-athlete. Gabby's experience and competitive spirit will make an immediate impact."
