BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo women's basketball head coach Kristen Sharkey has announced the addition of Alice Dart to the roster for the 2025-26 season.
Dart, a 5'10" guard from Brisbane, Australia, comes to Buffalo from Washington State where she appeared in 22 games for the Cougars as a rookie.
Before college, Dart played for the Southern District Spartans in a semiprofessional league run by the Australia National Basketball League where she appeared in 16 games, nine as a starter, averaging 10 points per game and scoring in double figures eight times including a 20-point game and 26-point effort while being the second-youngest player in the NBL1 League. For the Southern District Spartans (18U-14U), Dart was named the 2021-22 MVP after averaging 24.8 ppg, led the league in scoring (27.0 ppg) in 2022-23 and was named the 2023 State Championship MVP.
Dart was selected to the Queensland State Teams in 2021, 2022 and 2023, captaining the team to a National Championship in 2021, the silver medal in 2022 and bronze in 2023. She graduated from Moreton Bay College where she was the three-time Player of the Year, and was named the MVP of the CBSQ Opens and QG Opens.
"Alice has exceptional length and shooting ability, posing a constant threat from the perimeter," said Sharkey. "Defensively, her size and instincts allow her to guard multiple positions and control the glass effectively. Her all-around impact elevates both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball for us. She is tough and she is hungry, everything we want in a player at UB."
