BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo women's basketball head coach Kristen Sharkey has announced the addition of Amber Howard to the roster for the 2025-26 season.
Howard, a 6'0" guard/forward, comes to Buffalo from North Carolina A&T where she appeared in eight games for the Aggies as a rookie.
Before college, Howard was a four-year varsity starter at Bensalem High School in Philadelphia, PA, recording over 1,000 career points and 500 career rebounds. A two-time first team All-SOL Patriot Division selection, Howard was a McDonald's All-American nominee after averaging 18.2 points and 7.8 rebounds per game while helping the Fighting Owls advance to districts for the first time in four years. She played AAU ball for Philly Rise, a Nike Girls Elite Youth Basketball program that competes nationwide.
"Amber is a dynamic force at guard," said Sharkey. "Her exceptional length and lightning quick and strong first step make her nearly impossible to contain off the dribble. She has the rare ability to blow by defenders on the perimeter and overpower smaller matchups in the paint. Her versatility forces defenses to pick up fouls. Amber isn't just a mismatch; she's a problem around which teams will have to game plan."
