BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo senior guards Noelani Cornfield and Terah Harness were named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District Women's Basketball Team, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.
To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
Cornfield earns Academic All-District honors for the first time in her career after also being named to the Mid-American Conference's All-Defensive Team. She is averaging 10.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, a team-best 5.8 assists and 2.4 steals per game, while shooting an efficient 46% from the floor in 32 games. The Gowanda, NY native has been a menace on the defensive end of the floor as she leads the team and ranked second in the MAC in steals per game (2.4) and total steals (77), while often drawing the defensive assignment of the opponent's best player. She also ranks in the top 20 nationally, in assists per game (5.8) and total assists (185). Cornfield has a bachelor's degree in liberal studies and is currently pursuing a master's degree in criminology.
Harness, a business administration major with a 3.896 GPA, also earns Academic All-District recognition for the first time in her career. The New Carlisle, Ohio native has been a mainstay in the UB lineup in her last go around as she has appeared in all 33 games, earning 15 starts, while averaging 6.7 points per game, including 11 games in double figures, and shooting 39% from the floor and 33% from beyond the arc, including 44 made three-pointers.
The 2025 Academic All-District Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. Academic All-America honorees will be announced in April.
