BUFFALO, NY - University at Buffalo women's basketball head coach Becky Burke announced the addition Jordyn Beaty to the roster for the 2024-25 season. She will have one year of eligibility remaining.
Beaty, a 6'0 forward from Woodville, Texas, comes to Buffalo after a four-year career at Texas A&M Commerce. She appeared in 26 games as a junior, scoring in double-figures six times and recording seven double-digit rebounding efforts, including three double-doubles. She was a menace on the glass, leading the team and ranking in the top 10 in the Southland Conference in total rebounds (173), rebounds per game (6.7) and offensive boards (71) while playing 16.6 minutes per contest.
She made an immediate impact in her first two seasons with the Lions, appearing in 33 games and helping lead the team to its third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and their first NCAA tournament win for the Lions since the 2007 Elite Eight appearance as a rookie and then the program's fourth consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament as a sophomore.
Before college, Beaty had a standout career at Woodville High School in which she amassed over 2,000 career points, was a two-time 3A state All-tournament team selection and helped lead the Lady Eagles to an undefeated record in district play (52-0). As a senior, she averaged 23 points and 17.6 rebounds and 3.2 blocks per game to lead the Lady Eagles to a second consecutive University Interscholastic League 3A state final appearance and earn her the Beaumont Enterprise 2020 Super Gold Girls Basketball Player of the Year award.
"Jordyn is a physical, high motor player that will give us needed depth at the post position," said Burke. "Her ability to offensive rebound is incredible. She brings fours years of Division I experience to our team and will be a great teammate and mentor to our young ones. I'm so happy Jordyn is here and can't wait to see her grow this season."
