BUFFALO, NY – The Mid-American Conference announced their postseason awards on Tuesday, with University at Buffalo women's basketball guard Re'Shawna Stone earning a spot on the All-MAC Second Team.
Stone earns the postseason honor in her first season in the blue and white. She leads the team in scoring at 17.3 points per game while adding 5.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists per contest. She has scored in double figures 23 times this season, including 10 games with 20 or more points, and has been named MAC Player of the Week twice.
The Waynesville, MO native elevated her game in league play as she ranked second in scoring (20.3 ppg), fourth in field goal percentage (.526) and three-point field goal percentage (.427) and fifth in assists per game (3.9). She scored a career-high 36 points against Kent State earlier this season and has amassed over 2,400 points during her five-year career at the Division I and Division II levels.
"I am really excited for, and proud of, Stone," said head coach Becky Burke. "She's such a special talent and I'm glad the coaches in this conference recognized her for that. She has had an incredible MAC season from an individual standpoint and has been a huge part of our success. As great as Stone is on the court, she's even better off of it. I'm proud of the young lady that she is. She is such a light to everyone around her and w are lucky to have had her in our program this season."
The Bulls open play at the Mid-American Conference Tournament on Wednesday, March 8 at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse as they take on top-seeded Toledo at 11am. Advanced reservations for all games can be made by completing the MAC Basketball Ticket Order Form, calling 1-877-UB-THERE or in-person at the Alumni Arena Ticket Office.
