Women’s Basketball Signs Cincinnati Transfer Emerita Mashaire

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo head women's basketball coach Becky Burke has announced the addition of Cincinnati transfer Emerita Mashaire to the Bulls roster for the upcoming 2022-23 season.
A 6-0 guard/forward from Helsinki, Finland, Mashaire played in 24 games and earned three starts in her rookie season, averaging 2.5 points, 1.0 rebounds and 0.6 assists per contest. She scored a season high 19 points at Tulane and hit a season-high five free throws against Houston.
"Emerita is a strong, physical, multi-dimensional player on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor," said Burke. "She can score in several different ways and defend 1-5. Her experience playing at Cincinnati and for her National team in Finland will provide her an opportunity to make an immediate impact in the MAC. Emerita is a high-level competitor that wants to win championships. She embodies everything that we stand for here at UB, and I am thankful she has decided to join our program."
Mashaire joined Cincinnati after a decorated junior career in which she won the World School Championship gold medal with HBA Marsky and a European Championship Division B gold medal and a Finnish Championship bronze medal with the Finland U20 and U18 national teams.
