Legette-Jack Named Buffalo Business First 2021 Power 200 Women

BUFFALO, NY - University at Buffalo women's basketball head coach Felisha Legette-Jack was named to Buffalo Business First's annual Power 200 Women in Western New York list, as announced by the publication earlier this month. Legette-Jack placed 95th on the list, receiving the honor for the third time as one of the most influential women in all of Western New York.
Over her impressive coaching career, Legette-Jack has developed a reputation for being a powerful force on the sidelines, but her influence transcends the game of basketball as she is consistently recognized as a force in the Buffalo and Western New York communities as well. The Syracuse, NY native has grown the UB women's basketball program into a perennial contender in the Mid-American Conference and nationally, leading the Bulls to three NCAA Tournament appearances in the last six years. Under her tutelage, the Bulls have won 20+ games in four of the last six seasons are the only team in the MAC to win at least 19 games in six of the last seven campaigns.
On the sidelines, Legette-Jack owns a career coaching record of 318-270 while leading the Bulls to a 177-107 overall record during her nine years in Buffalo. She became the program's all-time winningest coach with the Bulls' win at Kent State on January 25, 2020. The Syracuse University alumna received a major honor earlier this month as it was announced that she would become the first women's basketball player to have her jersey retired in the Carrier Dome. Legette-Jack has not only helped lead UB to success on the court but also inside the classroom and in the Buffalo community through her "CAB" philosophy of character, academics, and basketball. Under her guidance, 27 student-athletes have earned Academic All-MAC honors and her teams have been involved in several community service projects around the community.
The impressive list, expanded from 150 to 200, includes the likes of Deans, CEO's, President's, and Directors of some of the biggest businesses in Western New York. Business First describes this list as "a group whose talent and influence fuel economic, social and cultural growth."
