BUFFALO, NY - University at Buffalo head women's basketball coach Felisha Legette-Jack has announced the signing of Dominique Camp and Nia Jordan to a National Letters of Intent on Friday.
"We are so excited to welcome Dominique and Nia to our women's basketball family," said Legette-Jack. "Both represent what we stand for here at UB; great character, strong academics, and high basketball skills. Our staff hit the ground running at the end of the season and we are fortunate to add these two amazing young women."
Camp comes to Buffalo from Troy University where she played in 17 games as a sophomore, helping the Trojans win the Sun Belt Championship and making the NCAA Tournament as a No. 15 seed. She shot 39% from the field and 35% from three-point range, scoring a season-high nine points at Mississippi State on 3-of-5 shooting from beyond the arc.
The Dayton, Ohio native came to Troy from Sinclair Community College where she was a decorated junior college player, earning Ohio Community College Athletic Conference First Team All-Conference and All-District XII honors while also being named the OCCAC Defensive and Co-Freshman of the Year in the 2019-20 season. While at Sinclair, Camp started 27 of 29 games, averaging 19.1 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. She had a knack for finding the open shooter with 193 assists, 6.7 per game. Her 193 assists ranked third in the nation that year. Camp played her high school ball at Lakota West High School where she was an Ohio-Kentucky All-Star and a District 15 All-Star while earning All-GMC 2nd Team honors. In 2019, she helped lead her team to a 23-3 record, a GMC and Sectional Championships.
Legette Jack on Camp: "Dominique will challenge for the point guard position. She is a fantastic passer, has a strong midrange game and is not afraid to crash the boards."
Jordan comes to Buffalo from Labette Community College where she averaged 11.6 points and 7.8 rebounds as a sophomore while shooting 47% from the floor and 35% from three-point range. In conference play she averaged a double-double 15 points and 10 rebounds per game. Prior to Labette, Jordan played at the University of New Orleans where she appeared in 17 games for the Privateers, recording a season-high nine points and five rebounds against Iowa State. The Philadelphia, PA native played her high school ball at Friends Central High School, where she led her team to a Friends' Schools Championship as a freshman and was a two-time FSL first team selection and at Neuman & Goretti High School where she led the team to a City Championship as a senior while also earning Second Team All-Catholic honors.
Legette-Jack on Jordan: "Nia, will meet you with a smile and high energy. She will look to challenge at the three position. She has a high motor, loves to rebound and run and can take the ball full court with the ability to assist or score."
Camp and Jordan join Georgia Woolley, Laney Bone and Kaelonn Wilson who signed with the Bulls during the early signing period in November.
"We are working in the dark to continue to build our brand and take this program to new heights," said Legette-Jack. We are humbled by the love we receive from our UB community and we cannot wait to see you back in the stands at Alumni Arena soon. With a great group of returning players and my amazing coaching staff, we are excited about what's ahead. Go Bulls!"
