BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo, State University of New York women's basketball head coach Felisha Legette-Jack announced the signing of Kandance Satterwhite to a National Letter of Intent Wednesday. A 5'9" guard from Liberty Township, OH, Satterwhite will join UB for the 2015-16 season.
"We're so excited that Kandance is joining our program," praised Legette-Jack. "She will bring athleticism, commitment, and enthusiasm to UB. She is a great student and a hard worker. Kandance is excited to be here, and we're thrilled to welcome her to our Buffalo family!"
Satterwhite led Lakota East High School to a 19-7 record and a sectional final championship this season. She was named a First-Team All-Greater Miami Conference selection as a senior, while also earning second-team praise as a sophomore and junior.
A District 12 All-Star Game participant, Satterwhite shot 50 percent from the field for her career. She is the daughter of Ken and Beatrice and has siblings, Hilton and Bernice.
The Bulls' record-setting 2014-15 season ended in the WNIT, just the second-ever postseason appearance in program history. UB, who returned to the MAC Tournament semifinals for the second time, amassed a 19-13 record, reaching 19 victories for the first time since 2000-01. Legette-Jack led the Bulls to back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 1999-00 and 2000-01.
