
MAC Announces Conference Slate For 2014-15

BUFFALO, NY - The Mid-American Conference announced its 2014-15 conference schedule on Wednesday afternoon for both men's and women's basketball. For the second year, teams will be playing an 18-game conference schedule.
Head coach Bobby Hurley and the reigning MAC East Division Championship men's basketball team will open conference play on Jan. 7 at Miami (OH) and will play four of their first six conference games on the road. The Bulls will begin the home portion of their MAC schedule on Wednesday, January 14 and then the men's and women's programs will have their lone conference doubleheader on January 17.
The Bulls head back on the road for two straight at Central Michigan and Ohio before ending January with home games against Western Michigan (1/27) and Kent State (1/31). The Bulls will then head to Ball State for the third straight year to open up February before heading to Akron on February 7.
UB will play five of its final eight conference games at home beginning on February 10 against Toledo. UB will also host Central Michigan before a road trip that will see it play at Eastern Michigan and Bowling Green. The Bulls return home to face Akron on February 24 and they will see the road for one final time on February 28 at Kent State.
The Bulls will be home for both of their games in March, hosting Ohio on March 3 and ending the regular season against Bowling Green on March 6.
On the women's side, after closing out their non-conference schedule with three consecutive road games, the Bulls open their 2015 Mid-American Conference schedule in Alumni Arena on Saturday, Jan. 3 hosting Ohio. This will be a doubleheader with the men's team, who is finishing up non-conference play against Cornell.
They travel to back-to-back road games at Central Michigan and Miami (OH) on Jan. 7 and 10, respectively. UB takes on Western Michigan on Jan. 13 and Ball State on Jan. 17 at home. The Bulls head to Toledo on Jan. 21 and return to Buffalo for a Jan. 24 contest against Northern Illinois. Following a mid-week bye, the Bulls close out January on the road with a Jan. 31 game at Eastern Michigan.
The Bulls take on West Division foe Toledo for a second time, hosting the Rockets on Feb. 4 and play host to Bowling Green on Feb. 7, before hitting the road for a pair of games. UB is at Akron on Feb. 11 and at Western Michigan, facing the Broncos for the second time, on Feb. 14.
Regular-season action concludes with six straight games against East Division opponents. The Bulls host Kent State and Miami on Feb. 18 and 21, respectively. They will travel to three of their final four match-ups. Buffalo is slated to play at Ohio on Feb. 25 and will play its regular-season home finale against Akron on Feb. 28. Games at Bowling Green on March 4 and at Kent State on March 7 will guide the Bulls into postseason play.
The MAC Basketball Tournament First Round will continue to be played at campus venues. The tournament will take place March 11-14 at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.
The 2014-15 basketball season will tip off on Friday, November 14 with a doubleheader at Alumni Arena. The women will host Siena, while the men will face South Dakota State.
