BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's basketball head coach Felisha Legette-Jack announced the Bulls 2014-15 non-conference schedule on Friday, highlighted by a trip to the crown jewel of college basketball's classic venues, Cameron Indoor Stadium on the campus of Duke University.
"I love that we have a very challenging non-conference schedule," said head coach Felisha Legette-Jack. " We know that this non-conference schedule will prepare us greatly for yet another challenging Mid-American Conference slate."
The Bulls, who won their most games (17) last season since the 2002-03 campaign, will open up their non conference slate with an exhibition game against local division III opponent Buffalo State at Alumni Arena on Nov. 8 at 2:00 pm.
As a part of a doubleheader with the men's team, the Bulls will open their regular season at home on Nov. 14 against Siena College at 5:00 pm. Four days later, UB will hit the road for the first time, as they will take on St. Francis (PA) on Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 7:00 pm.
To close out November, the Blue and White will play in four non-conference games in seven nights, including three on the road. On Nov. 22, the Bulls will host Big Four Rival Niagara at Alumni Arena; game time has not yet been assigned. Three nights later, Nov. 25, UB will travel to take on perennial national power Duke University at the famous Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Bulls will then head to the Miami University Thanksgiving Tournament on Nov. 28 and 29 for a pair of games against opponents to be named later.
December begins with another road game, as the Bulls will take on the Cornell Big Red on Dec. 4 at 7:00 pm. UB will welcome another Big Four rival, St. Bonaventure, to Alumni Arena on Dec. 15 at 7:00 pm for their final non-conference home contest of the season.
Buffalo will wrap up their non-conference slate with three straight road contests, starting on Dec. 19 at Manhattan at 7:00 pm. On Sunday, Dec. 21, the Bulls will take on Long Island before returning to Buffalo to play at cross town rival Canisius College at the Koessler Athletic Center on Dec. 29 at 7:00 pm.
"We know that our Big Four opponents, Niagara, Canisius and St. Bonaventure, are constantly getting better which will only help return our in-state rivalry to its truest form," stated Legette-Jack
The Bulls return nine players, including four starters, from last season's 17-win squad. UB also has added four very talented newcomers to the mix to make for a very exciting 2014-15 season.
"The way our young ladies are getting after their summer workouts is making me really excited about the upcoming season," said Legette-Jack.
The Mid-American Conference schedule will be released later this summer.
