BUFFALO, NY - For the first time since the 1999-2000 season, three different players were honored with postseason All-Mid-American Conference honors, as Mackenzie Loesing, Kristen Sharkey and Alexus Malone each were recognized by the conference Monday afternoon. Loesing made the second team, Sharkey was third team, and Malone was an All-Freshman team member.
Loesing finished the regular season with 16.5 points per game, which ranked sixth among all conference players. She would also finish fourth with 2.1 steals per game. She currently has the ninth most points in a single season in program history, and recently became the first sophomore in program history to reach 800 career points. Sharkey also enjoyed a career year, finishing the regular season with 14.8 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. Malone would get better with every game, ultimately making 25 starts while playing in every game. She averaged 7.5 points and 5.7 rebounds per game, but saved her best performances for the final stretch of the season, averaging 11.1 points and 6.3 rebounds in the final ten games of the season.
