2009-10: Finished 22nd at the MAC Cross Country Championships in 26:47.6. Posted top 8K time of 25:23 at the Paul Short Invitational. Placed fifth in the 3000m steeplechase (9:13.28) at the MAC Outdoor Championships. Also finished 10th in the 5000m (15:12.56) at the outdoor championships. Finished ninth in the 3000m (8:47.29) at the MAC Indoor Championships.
2008-09: UB’s Most Outstanding for cross country. Earned All-MAC honors with his fifth-place finish in a season-best 8K time of 24:44.9 at the league championships. Had four top-10 finishes in seven races. Named to the Academic All-MAC cross country team. Placed seventh in the 3000m steeplechase (9:29.01) at the MAC Outdoor Championships. Finished 11th in the 3000m (8:55.24) at the MAC Indoor Championships.
2007-08: Selected Top Newcomer for cross country. Raced in all seven races, posting top 8K mark of 25:54.84, finishing 17th of 146 at the Bowling Green Falcon Invitational. Finished 34th (26:06.7) at the MAC Cross Country Championships. Placed eighth in the 3,000m steeplechase (9:30.65) and 15th in the 5,000m (15:59.39) at the MAC Outdoor Championships. Took 12th for 3,000m (8:55.68) at the MAC indoor meet.
High School: Earned 11 letters for coaches Josh Reynolds and Lisa Book at Spencerport High School. Was sixth in the steeplechase (9:38.55) at the 2007 state championships. Placed 11th at the 2006 state cross country championships. Won the Section V championship twice in the steeplechase and once in the 3,000m. Twice named All-Monroe County.
Personal: Born July 10, 1989. Son of Eric and Cindy Bloom. Has one brother (Jason). Favorite athlete is Rafael Nadal. Favorite TV show is Comedy Central’s Mind of Mencia. Favorite foods include lobster and crab legs. Favorite musicians are Metallica. Majoring in mathematics.
