
Bulls Post Personal Records and Strong Placements at NCAA Northeast Regional Championships

CONTOOCOOK, NH – The University at Buffalo cross country program competed at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships on Friday afternoon, running alongside nationally ranked competition at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds. The Bulls posted personal best times en route to the program's best finish on the men's side since 2022 and the women's best since 2017.
The Buffalo men placed 16th of 38 teams, the team's best finish since placing 13th in 2022. Jacob Brink led the way for the men, taking 51st with a personal best time of 30:33.5. Brink posted the best finish for the Buffalo men at regional championships since Caleb Covell in 2019 (32nd, 29:41.8). Cameron Bogdan (70th, 30:51.6) and Noah Brightman (92nd, 31:04.8) also finished inside the top 100 runners. Brightman's performance was a personal best. Collin Stafford (110th, 31:19.1) and Matt Gensel (127th, 31:31.5) rounded out the Bulls' top five. Aidan Norris (132nd, 31:37.0) and Luke Stoeffler (170th, 32:05.2) also competed on the men's side.
The Buffalo women posted their best finish since placing 10th at the Northeast regional in 2017. The Bulls placed 18th in the field of 37 teams. Vassi Klock led the way for the Bulls, taking 54th with a personal record time of 20:59.6. Klock's placement was the best on the women's side at regional championships since Stephanie Ward in 2017 (51st, 22:50.0). Bronagh Cassidy followed closely, placing 57th with a personal best time of her own (21:01.4). Jacquie Appenheimer (115th, 21:45.5), Fiona Klingbeil (148th, 22:05.6) and Paris Welker (153rd, 22:11.9) rounded out the Bulls' top five, with all three posting personal best times too. Brianna Urban (193rd, 22:48.1) and Allison Newton (202nd, 23:01.2) also competed on the women's side.
