
Bulls Compete Amongst Ranked Programs at Penn State’s Spiked Shoe Invite

UNIVERSITY PARK, Penn. – The University at Buffalo cross country program competed at Penn State University's Spiked Shoe Invitational on Friday. The meet marked the program's second competition of the season.
The Buffalo men finished seventh of eight teams in attendance. Cameron Bogdan led the program for the second consecutive race, mapping the 5.2-mile course in 26:19.3. Freshmen Evan Feider (39th, 26:50.0), Andrew Green (58th, 27:31.3), Gage Feider (62nd, 27:36.2) and Simon Aguilar (65th, 27:44.6) rounded out the team's top five. Caleb Feider (69th, 27:56.9), Chris Turner (81st, 28:18.3) and Ethan Verbosky (88th, 29:08.0) also represented the men's program. Six of the eight runners were freshmen for the Bulls. Of the eight teams that competed in the men's field, five hold regional rankings, with Syracuse also being ranked nationally.
The Buffalo women placed ninth, led by Meghana Reddy, who placed 61st with a 6k time of 22:37.6. Ella Reilly (70th, 22:53.9), Megan Smith (73rd, 23:00.4), Brianna Urban (77th, 23:06.5) and Sophie Brettholtz (98th, 23:45.9) rounded out the program's top five, all posting top 100 placements. Reese Wilber (102nd, 23:49.7), Katie Edinger (106th, 24:13.9) and Leslie Villafuerte Castro (109th, 24:28.9) also competed for the women's program. The women's field featured six regionally ranked teams and one nationally ranked program in Penn State.
"The meet at Penn State was a good experience for our freshmen, running alongside ranked competition from our region and the Mid-Atlantic," said Program Director and Head Coach Vicki Mitchell. "It was good to see Bogdan and Reddy lead our program again. We are back at it next week in Rochester and I am eager to see how we progress as a team as the season continues."
