
Cross Country Set To Compete at Lehigh University’s Paul Short Invite

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo cross country program returns to action this Friday at the Lehigh University Paul Short Invitational. The Bulls will compete at the meet for the fourth consecutive season. The Buffalo men and women have been assigned to the "College Brown" races, with the men's 8k beginning at 2 p.m. and the women's 6k scheduled for 2:45 p.m.
The Bulls enter the competition following three weeks of training. The program last competed at the Penn State Spiked Shoe Invite on September 11th. The Buffalo men placed seventh and the women finished ninth. The men's race featured five regionally ranked programs and one nationally ranked team. The Buffalo men had five freshmen compete, with Simon Aguilar, Evan Feider, Gage Feider and Andrew Green earning spots in the team's top five. The women's 6k had six regionally ranked programs and one nationally ranked team. The Bulls were led by junior Meghana Reddy for the second consecutive meet, who finished with a personal record 6k time of 22:37.6.
The Buffalo men competed in the collegiate brown group last season at Lehigh, placing fourth of 37 teams in attendance. Cameron Bogdan and Chris Turner are the only returners from last year's race. Bogdan placed 120th of 344 athletes to be the Bulls' third runner to place. The men's team will feature six freshmen this Friday. Fiona Klingbeil (67th, 22:20.7) and Brianna Urban (68th, 22:22.1) return to Lehigh for the Buffalo women, both earning top-five spots for the Bulls last season. Megan Smith competed in the women's open race a year ago, earning a top-50 placement in the field of 442 student-athletes, with a personal record of 22:22.6.
The Bulls look to turn heads at Lehigh, facing off against numerous teams from the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. The men's brown race features two regionally ranked teams from the Northeast, with the women's field having one regionally ranked program from the Mid-Atlantic.
