
Bulls Travel to Miami (OH) on Thursday

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's soccer team (4-3-3, 1-1-1 MAC) opens the month of October on the road as they travel to Oxford for a clash with the Miami (OH) RedHawks on Thursday at 7pm.
It is the 32nd meeting between Buffalo and Miami (OH) with the RedHawks holding a 16-11-4 series advantage. The Bulls defeated the RedHawks 3-0 at Broadview Stadium last season.
Buffalo fell to Eastern Michigan 2-0 at Broadview Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles narrowly outshot the Bulls 7-6, while also maintaining a 6-4 edge in shots on goal. The teams were even with four corner kick opportunities each. Senior Lexie Thompson made four saves on the day, while Holland also made four stops for EMU.
The Bulls currently rank third in the MAC in shutout percentage (.600) and goals against average (1.00), fourth in save percentage (.804) and fifth in total assists (11) and assists per game (1.10). Two-time MAC Goalkeeper of the Year Lexie Thompson leads UB between the pipes as she leads the MAC and ranks in the top 10 nationally in shutouts (6) while also ranking third in the league in saves (38) and fifth in goals against average (1.00) and save percentage (.792).
Miami (OH) finished non-conference play with a 4-4 overall record and is 1-1-1 in league play after playing to a 1-1 draw with Ball State on Sunday. The RedHawks were picked second in the preseason coaches poll and return a solid core from last year's squad that earned the No. 2 seed in the 2025 MAC Tournament, which was their highest seed since 2014. Miami has a high-powered offense that ranks in the top three in the league in goals (15) and points (41), led by senior forward Kayla Perfect who has three goals on the year while five other players have recorded a pair of goals. Senior Dominique Popa has been a consistent presence for the RedHawks between the pipes as she has compiled a 5-5-1 overall record while recording a 1.36 goals against average and .674 save percentage with 31 saves across 11 starts this season.
