Bulls Host Crosstown Rival Canisius on Wednesday

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's soccer team (2-2-1) welcomes crosstown rival Canisius at Broadview Stadium on Wednesday at 4pm.
It is the 43rd meeting between the two programs, with the Bulls owning a narrow 28-11-4 series advantage. The Bulls defeated Canisius 3-0 at the Demske Sports Complex last season.
Buffalo played to a scoreless draw with Binghamton in rainy conditions on Sunday afternoon. Binghamton outshot the Bulls 10-8, including a 6-3 edge in shots on goal, while also earning three corner kick opportunities to UB's one. Seniro Lexie Thompson made six saves in her third shutout of the season while Kessler made three stops for the Bearcats.
Canisius is 3-1 after defeating Colgate 2-1 on Thursday. The Golden Griffins were picked fourth in the Metro Conference preseason coaches poll and welcome back 18 letterwinners from its 2025 squad that posted an 8-8-3 overall record and 7-4-1 conference ledger on its way to making the program's second appearance in the conference tournament title game. Senior midfielder Jessica Whitaker was named to the preseason All-Metro team after receiving first team all-conference accolades a season ago. Romane Lanni and Azaria Fagan lead the Griffs offensively with two goals each to start the season. Freshman Alexa Turmel leads Canisius between the pipes with a 3-1 overall record, 1.00 goals against average and a .789 save percentage through four contests.
Up next, Buffalo will close out the regular season at Lafayette on Thursday, September 10 at 7pm.
