Bulls Close Out Weekend with 5-2 Win Over Ball State

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo men's tennis team (8-4, 2-0 MAC) defeated Ball State 5-2 on Sunday afternoon at Miller Tennis Center.
The Bulls took the doubles point as Theodoros Mitsakos and Clement Mainguy cruised to a 6-1 win at first doubles and Faiz Nasyam and Minjae Kim followed with a 6-2 victory at the third position to give UB a 1-0 lead in the match.
Mitsakos continued his strong play in singles action as he rolled to a 6-1, 6-2 win at first singles and Emiliano Jorquera won 6-2, 6-1 at fifth singles to put UB up 3-1, before Onder Balci clinched the match with a 6-4, 6-3 win at third singles. Kim rounded out the scoring for UB with a 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 win at fourth singles.
"This was a very strong start for our squad this weekend," said head coach Lee Nickell. "I am really proud of our doubles performances, and we had some very consistent results in singles. Emiliano, Onder and Minjae all did a great job getting wins both days. We will take a couple days off and then we will get ready for a very good Toledo team next weekend."
Buffalo will return to action on Saturday, March 14 against Toledo at 1pm.
