Bio
Before Buffalo: Minjae Kim, who hails from Seoul, South Korea, comes to Buffalo after two years at Collin College. He is coming off a stellar sophomore season in which he was named the NJCAA (National Junior College) Player of the Year after reaching #1 in the JUCO singles rankings while helping lead the Cougars to a third-place finish at the NJCAA championships, the program’s best finish since 2013. He was also named a Second Team Doubles All-American after taking the runner up spot in Flight 1 at the championship with teammate Jose Castillo. He made an immediate impact as a freshman as he was ranked eighth nationally in singles and qualified for the singles draw of the ITA Cup as a freshman. He is also a two-time ITF singles and doubles champion and has an 11.6 ITF singles ranking and a doubles ranking of 15.5.
