Bulls Compete at Farnsworth Invitational

PRINCETON, NJ – The University at Buffalo men's tennis team competed at the Farnsworth Invitational, hosted by Princeton, this weekend.
Buffalo opened play on Friday with a trio of singles wins over the Tigers as Onder Balci defeated Princeton's Ford McCollum 6-2, 6-2, Minjae Kim cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Sawyer Severance and Miko Lapalme battled to a 7-5, 7-5 win over Meecah Bigun.
The Bulls continued their strong singles play on Saturday as Kim and Onder picked up a pair of wins, defeating Dartmouth's Dillon Beckles Calvin Wang 8-4 before taking down the Big Green pairing of Denny Bao and Puthi Pantaratorn 8-5. Miko Lapalme and Mathis Salvestre defeated Princeton's Sawyer Severance and Milan Markovits 8-3. Kim also picked up a win in singles action, defeating Purdue's Juan David Velasquez 7-5, 4-6, 6-1.
On Sunday, Salvestre and Lapalme defeated Purdue's Liam Channon and Lorenzo Balducci 8-5. The Bulls then picked up a trio of singles victories as Lapalme defeated Darmouth's Leo Pade 6-1, 6-4, Kim battled to a hard-fought three set victory over Drexel's Will Burridge 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 (6) and Balci earned a three-set victory of his own with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 win over Drexel's Josue Guzman.
Up next, the Bulls will travel to State College for the Penn State Invitational which will be held October 1-4.
