BUFFALO, NY - University at Buffalo men's tennis head coach Lee Nickell announced the signing of Mathis Salvestre to the roster for the 2026-27 season.
The Marseille, France native has a current UTR ranking of 12.1 and was a doubles champion at the J100 event in Clermont-Ferrand as well as a doubles semifinalist at the French U18 championships. In singles action, he was a finalist at the J60 in Dijon and a U18 regional vice-champion in his home country.
"Coach Miller and I are excited to have Mathis joining us this Fall," said Nickell. "When we started recruiting Mathis, we believed that he was an "under the radar" recruit, and in the time we have recruited Mathis his UTR has risen over a half point. He will be a major addition both on court and in the classroom. We believe his potential is very high and we cannot wait to get on court with him!"
