BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's soccer team welcomes Colorado College to UB Stadium for the home opener on Thursday night at 7pm.
It is the second overall meeting between the two programs. The Bulls and Tigers played to a 1-1 draw in Colorado Springs a year ago.
Buffalo played to a 1-1 draw with Colgate at Beyer-Small '76 Field on Sunday afternoon. Freshman Jessie Bernabe recorded her first career goal off an assist from fellow rookie Gabriella Capra. The Bulls outshot the Raiders 19-5, including a 7-4 edge in shots on goal, while also maintaining an 11-0 advantage in corner kick opportunities, but were unable to capitalize.
Colorado College was picked 11th in the Mountain West preseason poll after finishing the 2024 season with an 8-9-3 overall record and 4-5-2 mark in league play. The eight wins were the most in a season for CC since 2019 and the most under head coach Keri Sanchez. They return 18 players, including a trio who were named to the preseason Mountain West Watch List in Regan Wallace, who returns for her third year in net for the Tigers after recording six shutouts and 75 saves as sophomore, Kendall Memoly who was second on the team last year in points and already has two goals this season, and Finley Schoenbeck, who was second on the team with five goals and 11 points as a rookie.
Up next, Buffalo will travel to East Lansing for a contest at nationally-ranked Michigan State on Thursday, August 28 at 7pm.
