BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo women's basketball head coach Kristen Sharkey has announced the addition of Liza Field to the roster for the 2025-26 season. She will have one year of eligibility remaining.
Field, a 6'3 forward from Manchester, NH, comes to Buffalo from Stony Brook where she appeared in 53 games across three seasons for the Seawolves. As a senior she played in a career-high 26 games while notching a career-best seven starts. She made 15 appearances in her sophomore season including a season-high five points in 16 minutes of play vs. Northeastern in CAA Tournament quarterfinal round. She made 12 appearances as a rookie, recording a career-high seven points in a career-best 22 minutes of play against Hartford (1/2). Field also excelled in the classroom as she was a member of the America East Honor Roll.
Before college, she was a four-year letterwinner at the Tilton School where she helped lead the Rams to a NEPSAC Class A championship and was a two-time Lakes Region All-Star, an All-NEPSAC selection, 2021 Tommy Merrill Award winner. Off the court, she was a member of the National Honor Society.
"We're excited to add a versatile 6'3 post player who can stretch the floor and make an impact on both ends," said Sharkey. "Her ability to lead, communicate and bring people together, demonstrated though roles such as SAAC President at Stony Brook, will be a huge asset to our locker room She brings a mature presence and a high IQ to our group that will elevate us immediately."
