BUFFALO, NY – Head women's basketball coach Becky Burke has announced the addition of Ronni Nwora, a Buffalo native who played at The Park School. Nwora, the sister of current Milwaukee Bucks forward Jordan Nwora, has been at both Georgia Tech and Saint Louis.
Nwora redshirted her freshman season at Georgia Tech and joined Saint Louis this past January, but was unable to play due to NCAA transfer rules.
Prior to Georgia Tech, Nwora was a multi-sport athlete at The Park School of Buffalo, competing in basketball, soccer and tennis. She captained the basketball team all four years, was twice named to the Monsignor Martin second team and earned Monsignor Martin first-team honors in her senior season. Nwora was named the school's Female Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2018-19.
"Ronni brings experience at both the Power 5 and A10 levels and anytime you have a player that has played at high levels, you know you will benefit from them knowing what it takes to win," said Burke. "Ronni is a very skilled post player with great hands and feet. Her size and presence in the paint will help our team tremendously. I'm excited to help contribute to Ronni's growth both on the floor and off of it."
Ronni's father Alex Nwora is the head coach at Erie Community College and is also a coach with the Nigeran national team.
