
Bulls Continue Road Swing at Binghamton on Sunday

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's soccer team continues its road swing as they travel to the Southern Tier to take on the Binghamton Bearcats on Sunday night. The game will be streamed on EPSN3 with Jason Weinstein announcing.
It will be the eighth meeting between Buffalo and Binghamton with the Bulls holding the 5-1-1 series edge. The Bulls and Bearcats played to a 1-1 double overtime draw in their last meeting on August 28, 2016, also at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
Buffalo is coming off a thrilling 3-2 overtime win at Yale on August 27. After a slow start the Bulls got on the board in the 66th minute as Marcy Barberic converted on a penalty kick for her third goal of the year. Buffalo would continue to attack as Kaitlyn Walsh played a beautiful ball through to Gianna Yurchak who banged home the equalizer to tie the game 2-2 in the 76th minute. In overtime, it was a pair of freshmen who provided the spark in the 95th minute as Kaya Schultz played a great ball through to Arianna Zumpano and she fired a shot inside the back post for the game-winning goal.
Binghamton enters Sunday's match with a 2-2-1 overall record after falling 1-0 at Syracuse on Thursday night. The Bearcats are led offensively by Maya Anand who has scored three goals on nine shots. Haylee Poltorak has led Binghamton between the pipes making 31 saves while recording a 0.77 goals against average and a .886 save percentage.
Following Sunday's game, the Bulls will conclude their road trip as they take on crosstown rival Canisius on Thursday, September 9 at 7pm.
