
Bulls Conclude Non-Conference Action at UConn on Saturday

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo soccer team wraps up non-conference play on Saturday as they travel to Storrs, CT for a matchup with the UConn Huskies at 1pm at Morrone Stadium. It is the first meeting between the two programs.
Buffalo takes a five-game win streak into Saturday's match after defeating Duquesne 4-0 in dominating fashion on Sunday afternoon at UB Stadium. Graduate student Marcy Barberic continues to find the back of the net as she scored the first two goals of the game and fellow graduate student Gianna Yurchak scored her second goal of the season in the 23rd minute off a great feed from Leah Wengender. Senior Katherine Camper added an insurance goal, also her second of the year, in the 58th minute. Senior Emily Kelly made a season-high six saves as she recorded her third straight shutout victory.
UConn enters Saturday's match with a 4-2 overall record after defeating Syracuse 3-0 on Sunday. The Huskies are led by sophomore Jada Konte and senior Duda Santin who have each recorded a pair of goals and an assist on the year. Sophomore Kaitlyn Mahoney has led UConn between the pipes, compiling a 3-2 record with a 1.65 goals against average and 22 saves in six starts.
Following weekend play, the Bulls will open Mid-American Conference play as they travel to Athens, OH for a clash with the Ohio Bobcats on Thursday, September 23 at 4pm.
