BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's soccer team (3-1-1) welcomes Miami (OH) to UB Stadium for the middle game of a three-game homestand on Sunday afternoon.
It will be the 25th meeting between Buffalo and Miami (OH) with the RedHawks owning the 16-6-2 series lead. The Bulls have won three of the last four meetings with the RedHawks, most recently a 5-0 win in Oxford on March 7th.
Buffalo is coming off a thrilling 2-1 double overtime win against Ohio at UB Stadium on Sunday. The Bulls were led once again by senior Gianna Yurchak who scored the game-tying goal in the 31st minute before playing a great ball to Leah Wengender who drilled a beautiful shot into the top right corner of the net for the game-winner in the 108th minute. Junior Emily Kelly made six saves for UB.
Yurchak leads the Bulls with 10 total points while fellow senior captain Marcy Barberic has a team-high four goals on a team-best 23 shots to go along with one assist. Wengender has also recorded a pair of goals on six shots.
Miami (OH) enters Sunday's match with a 3-2 overall record after defeating Akron 1-0 last weekend. The RedHakws are led offensively by Kristina DeMarco who has recorded two goals and an assist. Four other RedHawks have recorded one goal each. In net, Miami (OH) has relied on Izzie Vaccari who has made 29 saves on the year while recording a 1.80 goals against average and a .763 save percentage.
Following Sunday's game, the Bulls will conclude the homestand on Thursday, April 1, as they welcome Kent State to UB Stadium for a rematch with the Golden Flashes.
