
Bulls Host Bowling Green in Home Opener on Sunday

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's soccer team (1-1-0) welcomes defending conference champion Bowling Green for the home opener at UB Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
It will be the 27th series meeting for Buffalo and Bowling Green with the Falcons going 17-8-1 in the previous 26 match-ups. The Falcons have won the past five contests with the Bulls, most recently a 2-1 win in the MAC semifinals in 2019.
Buffalo is coming off a dominant 5-0 win over Miami (OH) a week ago. The Bulls were led by senior captains Marcy Barberic and Gianna Yurchak who each recorded two goals and an assist in the win. Sophomore Leah Wengender added a penalty goal as well in the 15th minute of the game. Emily Kelly made three saves for the Bulls in her first shutout of the season.
Bowling Green enters Sunday's match with a 2-0 overall record after defeating Ohio 1-0 in overtime last weekend. The Falcons are led offensively by Kennedy White who has recorded two goals. Lacee Bethea and Lynsey Spotts have also recorded a goal apiece for BG. In net Bowling Green has relied on Lili Berg who has made two saves on the year in a pair of shutout victories.
Buffalo will return to action on Thursday, March 18, as they travel to Akron for a clash with the Zips.
