
Bulls Wrap Up Home Portion of Schedule This Weekend

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's soccer team will look to extend their two-game winning streak as they wrap up the home portion of their schedule with a match against Northern Illinois on Friday night before welcoming Western Michigan on Sunday afternoon.
Sunday's match will also be Senior Day for four UB players, Gurjeena Jandu, Mairead Martin, Adrianna VanCuyck and Carley Zoccali.
On Friday it will be the 23rd all-time meeting between Buffalo and Northern Illinois with the Bulls holding the 10-9-3 series edge. The Bulls defeated the Huskies 5-0 in DeKalb last season.
On Sunday, Buffalo and Western Michigan will meet for the 28th time with the Broncos holding the 11-10-6 edge in the series. The Broncos have won two of the last three meetings, including a 4-2 win in Kalamazoo last season.
Buffalo is coming off a 2-0 week as they were able to collect a 3-2 victory over Kent State on Friday night before closing out the weekend with a huge 2-0 shutout victory at Ohio on Sunday. Junior Marcy Barberic netted two goals and Tess Ford scored the game-winner, her first goal of the season, to secure the victory in a back-and-forth game against the Golden Flashes on Friday. On Sunday, the Bulls scored twice in the first half courtesy of Katherine Camper and Annie Judasz and the backline stood tall against a strong second half effort from Ohio to propel UB to a big road victory over the Bobcats.
As a team, the Bulls have scored 21 goals off the feet of 13 different players, the most of any team in the MAC. Barberic leads the Bulls with five goals and two assists while Camper, Kaitlyn Walsh, Kara Daly and Annie Judasz have all chipped in two goals apiece. Sophomore Emily Kelly has been a reliant force in between the pipes for UB, compiling a 6-6-1 overall record with a 1.13 goals against average, 61 saves and three shutouts on the season.
Northern Illinois enters Friday's match with a 2-9-2 overall, 0-5-1 MAC record after playing to a 1-1 draw with Miami (OH) on Sunday. The Huskies are led offensively by sophomore Trudy Quidzinski who has recorded four goals and an assist on nine shots. Freshman Julia Neary has also impressed, scoring a pair of goals on year.
Junior Megan Donnally has seen the most action in net for the Huskies as she has recorded a 1-1-7 overall record with a 1.72 goals against average and 72 saves in nine appearances this season.
Western Michigan enters the weekend with a 5-7-1 overall, 3-2-1 MAC record, after falling to Ball State 2-1 on Sunday. The Broncos are led offensively by sophomore Morgan Otteson who has a team-best seven goals to go along with three assists and 25 shots on the season. Junior Bailey Korhorn has also been a main contributor as she has recorded four goals and four assists on a team-best 38 shots on the year.
In net, the Broncos have relied on junior Maggie Rogers who has compiled a 5-5-1 overall record with a 1.48 goals against average and 63 saves in 12 appearances this season.
Following weekend play the Bulls will finish the season on a three-game road swing beginning with a trip to Michigan with matches at Central Michigan on Thursday, October 24, at 7pm, followed by a trip to Ypsilanti to take on Eastern Michigan on Sunday, October 27 at 1pm.
