Bulls Travel to Western Michigan on Sunday

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's soccer team (4-4-4, 1-2-2 MAC) travels to Kalamazoo for a contest against the defending conference champion Western Michigan Broncos on Sunday at 1pm.
It is the 34th meeting between Buffalo and Western Michigan, with the Broncos maintaining a 15-12-7 series advantage. The Bulls fell to the Broncos 2-0 in the regular season finale at Broadview Stadium last season.
Buffalo fell to Ohio 1-0 on Senior Day at Broadview Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The teams tied with eight shot attempts each, but the difference was a 6-2 advantage in shots on goal for the Bobcats. Buffalo maintained a 4-2 edge in corner kick opportunities. Senior Lexie Thompson made five saves on the day for UB.
The Bulls currently rank third in the MAC and in the top 25 in the nation in shutout percentage (.583) while also ranking third in the league in goals against average (0.92) and fourth in save percentage (.817). Two-time MAC Goalkeeper of the Year Lexie Thompson leads UB between the pipes as she leads the MAC and ranks in the top five nationally with seven shutouts while also ranking third in the MAC in saves (46) and fourth in goals against average (0.92) and save percentage (.807).
Western Michigan is 5-3-4 overall and 3-1-1 in league play after playing falling to Bowling Green 1-0 on Sunday. The Broncos are led offensively by redshirt junior Tessa Fagerson who has recorded five goals and four assists on the year and ranks second in the MAC with 14 points. Additionally nine other players have recorded a goal this season. The Broncos lead the league in assists (21), assists per game (1.75) and corner kicks per game (6.5), while ranking second in goals (21) and points (63) and third in shots (13.0) and shots on goal (6.25) per contest. Sophomore Reagan Sulaver leads Western Michigan between the pipes, compiling a 5-3-4 overall record while recording a 1.05 goals against average and .744 save percentage with 29 saves across 10 starts this season.
