
Volleyball Announces 2025 Slate

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo in coordination with the Mid-American Conference announced their 2025 campaign on Tuesday morning. In total, the Bulls will play 30 matches. In total, UB will host 21 matches on the season as six of those matches will be neutral site.
The season will begin on Friday, Aug. 29th as the Bulls host the Buffalo Invite. This year's participants include the Liberty Flames, Marist Red Foxes and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. The Invite will run through Sunday, Aug. 31st.
In the second week of non-conference play, Buffalo will head up to Milwaukee, Wisc. to play in the Marquette Invite. The Bulls will face the Dayton Flyers on Friday, Sept. 5th, followed by the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers (Sept. 6th) and the Marquette Golden Eagles (Sept. 7th). The Flyers were 31-3 in the 2024 season and advanced to the NCAA Regionals after beating South Carolina and #16 Baylor. They lost to #3 Nebraska to close the season. The Hilltoppers won the Conference USA title last season with a 28-7 record and fell to Minnesota in the NCAA Tournament. Marquette finished the season with a 25-9 overall record in 2024. They advanced all the way to the NCAA Tournament Regional Semifinal as they defeated Florida Golf Coast and #17 Utah. They fell to the eventual National Champion Penn State Nittany Lions.
The Bulls are back at Alumni Arena as they host the Buffalo Classic from Sept. 12th-14th. UB will open the weekend against the Northwestern Wildcats. On Sept. 13th the Bulls will host crosstown rival Niagara. To close the weekend, they'll welcome Cornell to Alumni Arena.
In the final non-conference weekend, the Bulls will head down to Pittsburgh, Pa. to face the Duquesne Dukes and the Robert Morris Colonials. The games are set for Sept. 19th and 20th, respectively.
Mid-American Conference play will begin on Thursday, Sept. 25th as the Bulls will open at home against the Ball State Cardinals. The following day the Miami (OH) RedHawks will battle the Bulls in Alumni Arena.
The Bulls will hit the road for three straight matches as they'll play the Kent State Golden Flashes (Oct. 3rd), the Ohio Bobcats (Oct. 4th) and the Akron Zips (Oct. 7th). UB will play six straight matches against the Michigan programs as Central Michigan will visit Alumni Arena on Oct. 10th and 11th. The following weekend, the Bulls will host the two-time defending MAC Champion Western Michigan Broncos on Oct. 17th and 18th. Buffalo will head to Ypsilanti, Mich. to play the Eastern Michigan Eagles on Thursday, Oct. 23rd and Friday, Oct. 24th.
Buffalo will be back home for one game against Akron on Tuesday, Oct. 28th before staying on the road for four matches. They'll travel to DeKalb, Ill. for the last time against Northern Illinois on Oct. 31st and Nov. 1st. The Toledo Rockets will host the Bulls on Nov. 7th and 8th in Savage Arena.
To close out the regular season, the Bulls will host the 2024 Regular Season Champion Bowling Green Falcons on Friday, Nov. 15th and Saturday, Nov. 16th.
