Bulls Fall in Season Finale to the Falcons

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Buffalo Bulls volleyball team (9-18, 6-12 MAC) lost to the visiting Bowling Green Falcons (16-14, 10-8 MAC) on Saturday evening at Alumni Arena, 17-25, 20-25, 18-25.
Emerson Matthews had a match-high 14 kills and a team-high 10 digs as she recorded her sixth double-double in her freshman campaign. Jordyn Romano finished the night with four total blocks.
Bowling Green outhit the Bulls, .218 to .059, which resulted in the Falcons getting 38 kills to Buffalo's 28.
In the first set, neither team was clicking on offense. Bowling Green hit just .077 as the Bulls were in the negative at -.107. After the Falcons took a 1-0 lead, the Bulls tied it at 1. Bowling Green went on a 6-0 run to take a 7-1 lead to force a UB timeout. The Falcons won, 25-17.
Buffalo's offense started to find their rhythm in the second set as they hit .156, good for nine kills. However, Bowling Green's offense also improved as they hit .297 with 17 kills. Buffalo kept it close, but the Falcons won, 25-20.
In the third set, Buffalo started with a 2-0 lead, but a 14-5 run by the Falcons gave the visitors a 14-7 lead. It was even the rest of the way as Bowling Green won, 25-18.
