2025: The freshman started in 26 of the 27 matches on the season...Led the team in sets played with 101...Led the Bulls with 366 kills ad 3.62 kills per set...Tallied a team-high 419.0 points, good for 4.15 points per set...Added 1.88 digs per set...Tallied six double-doubles on the season: Rutgers (8/31) (15 kills, 12 digs); #25 Dayton (9/5) (12 kills, 13 digs); Central Michigan (10/10) (20 kills, 10 digs); Eastern Michigan (10/23) (14 kills, 10 digs); Toledo (11/7) (25 kills, 13 digs); Bowling Green (11/15) (14 kills, 10 digs)...Recorded a career-high 25 kills against Ohio (10/4) and Toledo (11/7)...Had double digit kills in 19 matches...Secured a career-high 13 digs against #25 Dayton (9/5) and Toledo (11/7)...Tallied three blocks against Marist (8/30)...Earned MAC All-Freshman Team and Second Team honors, just the second Bull in program history to earn Freshman Team and All-MAC honors in the same season.
Prior to Buffalo: Matthews was also selected to Canada's NEP and moved to Vancouver for a few months to take advantage of this opportunity. ..She played in the BioSteel All-Canadian Games for Team Canada in 16U and 17U...In 2024 she was named SASK Volleyball 17U Female Athlete of the Year...She represented the 19U Team Canada at the NORCECA PAN-AM Cup in Honduras this past summer...Winning is in her DNA as when she played 14U, she helped her team win the National Championships followed by a third place finish the following year in 15U...During her 18U season, the team was the Provincial Champions.
