Bulls Fall to Toledo

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Buffalo Bulls volleyball team (9-16, 6-10 MAC) fell to the Toledo Rockets (19-9, 10-6 MAC) on Saturday evening at Savage Arena, 20-25, 12-25, 23-25.
Emerson Matthews had a game-high 18 kills and finished with a .273 hitting percentage. Manoela Forlin added eight kills and five digs. Maddie Mitchell recorded her 13th double-double of the season with 26 assists and 13 digs. Sadie Gladhill had a team-high 15 digs as Keira Kleidon finished with seven.
The Rockets outhit the Bulls, .305 to .158. UB only had six less kills than the Rockets, but the Rockets came away with 16 more points.
The Bulls hung around in the first set of the night. The trailed, 15-12, at the media timeout, but the Rockets quickly turned the script as they extended their lead to 20-12. A run by the Bulls forced a Toledo timeout at 24-19, but the Rockets won the set, 25-20.
It was all Toledo in the second set as they won 25-12. The Bulls hit .034 as the Rockets hit .407. Toledo rattled off five total blocks in the set.
The Bulls went down with a fight. They looked to extend the match, but couldn't stop Toledo's offense. Toledo tallied 17 kills in the set as they won, 25-23.

The Bulls will close the regular season on Friday and Saturday against Bowling Green. Friday's match will start at 6 p.m. as they're Saturday match will be at 4 p.m. Both matches will be on ESPN+.
