Bulls Fall to Western Michigan

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Buffalo Bulls volleyball team (6-12, 3-6 MAC) couldn't hold off the visiting Western Michigan Broncos (9-13, 6-3 MAC) on Saturday afternoon, 11-25, 11-25, 21-25.
It was a struggle for the Bulls as they fell into early holes and couldn't find a way to get out. On the day, the Broncos essentially led wire-to-wire as there was just one tie and no lead changes throughout the match.
Western Michigan finished with 42 kills to the Bulls 27 as they outhit the home team, .317 to .084. Buffalo had 19 attack errors as the Broncos only had 10. The Bulls tallied four blocks, but the Broncos came away with seven.
Emerson Matthews led the team with eight kills as Manoela Forlin had seven.
Both Tehya Shaw and Ava Kanj had two solo blocks. Keira Kleidon finished with 14 digs.
SET 1
The Bulls didn't find a rhythm on offense as they hit -.087 with just five kills. The Broncos brought the attack as they finished with 16 kills and a .333 hitting percentage.
SET 2
Western Michigan kept their foot on the pedal as they hit .438 with 15 kills. The Bulls managed to hit in the positive margin at .088, but only tallied eight kills.
SET 3
The Bulls did not back down in the third set as they finished with 14 kills to Western Michigan's 11. Buffalo made a late surge, but fell short at 25-21.
UP NEXT
The Bulls will hit the road where six of their next seven matches will be away from Alumni Arena. They'll visit the Eastern Michigan Eagles on Thursday and Friday for a pair of matches.
