Thompson Named MAC Co-Defensive Player of the Week

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo women's soccer sophomore goalkeeper Lexie Thompson has been named the Mid-American Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.

It is the second weekly honor for Thompson and third straight, and fifth overall, for the Bulls this season.

The Levittown, NY native continues to be an anchor between the pipes for Buffalo as she made six saves and recorded her eighth shutout of the year in a complete game effort at Ball State on Sunday. Thompson is putting together an impressive resume on the season as she leads the MAC and ranks in the top five in the nation in shutouts (8), goals against average (0.33) and save percentage (.920).

The Bulls return to action on Thursday night as they host Toledo at 6pm.
