Bio
2024: Became just the second Bull to earn Goalkeeper of the Year honors, while also receiving All-MAC First Team and Third Team All-Region honors for the first time in her career… Recorded a career-best nine saves to lead UB to a 2-1 win at #7 Pittsburgh, the program’s first win over a top 10 team… Led the MAC and ranked in the top 25 in the nation in shutouts (11), goals against average (0.70) and save percentage (.841), while also recording 74 saves… Her 11 shutouts rank third in a single-season in program history.
2023: Started seven games for the Bulls as a freshman before missing the remainder of the season with an injury… Recorded a 4-1-2 overall record, two shutouts, 16 saves, a 0.73 goals against average and a .762 save percentage… notched a season-high five saves in back-to-back games against Niagara (9/3) and Cornell (9/10).
Before Buffalo: Thompson comes to Buffalo from Levittown, NY where she played for General Douglas MacArthur High School and is a three-year member of the SUSA Academy. She had a standout high school career in which she led the Generals to four straight conference championships. Individually, she was named to the Unived Soccer Coaches High School All-American team, the highest honor that a high school athlete can earn, after a standout senior season. She amassed 28 career shutouts and was a three-time All-County selection and was named the conference’s Goalkeeper of the Year twice. In club ball, she led her team to a Showcase Cup Championship in 2021. Off the pitch, Thompson is a member of the National Honor Society and is a recipient of the seal of biliteracy.
