Bulls Close Out Non-Conference Slate at UConn on Saturday

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's soccer team (3-1-2) closes out the non-conference portion of their schedule on Saturday, September 16 with a tilt at UConn at 7pm.
The game will be streamed on the UCONN+ streaming platform, free to all users, with Joe D'Ambrosio announcing.
It will be the second meeting between the Bulls and Huskies with UB coming away with a 2-0 win at Morrone Stadium in 2021.
The Bulls extended their unbeaten streak to five games last week as they played to a draw against Cornell on Sunday afternoon at UB Stadium. Sophomore Katie Krohn scored the equalizer in the 58th minute.
Krohn leads the Bulls with four goals and an assist over the opening six games of play. She is tied for second in the MAC in goals (4), goals per game (0.67), points (9) and points per game (1.5) while ranking sixth in total shots (17) and fifth in shots per game (2.83). Hermann Trophy watchlist selection Leah Wengender has two goals while Arianna Zumpano has also recorded a goal. Freshman Lexie Thompson has led the Bulls between the pipes, recording a 3-1-1 overall record with 14 saves, a .778 save percentage and a .80 goals against average.
UConn enters Saturday's contest with a 3-2-1 overall record after falling 1-0 at Yale on Sunday. Sophomore forward Cioma Okafor leads the Huskies offensively with three goals and an assist while seven other players have recorded a goal. Senior Kaitlyn Mahoney leads UConn between the pipes, compiling a 3-2-1 overall record with nine saves, a .750 save percentage and 0.50 goals against average on the year.
Next up, the Bulls open Mid-American Conference play on Thursday, September 21 at Akron.
