Cali Assaley Joins Volleyball Staff as Director of Volleyball Operations

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo Women's Volleyball Head Coach Scott Smith announced the addition of former Bull Cali Assaley to his staff on Monday morning. Assaley will join the staff as the Director of Volleyball Operations after graduating from UB in the spring.
Last season, Assaley used her fifth year to play for the Bulls where she appeared in 31 matches after transferring from Louisiana-Monroe. She finished the 2022 campaign with 242 kills, 20 blocks, 13 assists, and 266.0 points. She compiled a career-high 19 kills against the Ohio Bobcats while finishing with a .472 kill percentage on the season.
"I am very excited to bring Cali onboard as the director of operations for this coming year," stated Head Coach Scott Smith. "After spending this past fall in the program as a player, she has firsthand knowledge and experience of what works well with the team from a communication and organizational standpoint. The strong relationship Cali has built with the team and the staff will serve her well as she handles much of the day-to-day communication, social media accounts, and assists with travel logistics for the team this fall."
The Bulls begin the season at the UAB Invitational on August 25 against Austin Peay in Birmingham, Ala.
