Men’s Basketball Hosts Daemen on Sunday for Exhibition

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo men's basketball team will host the Daemen Wildcats on Sunday, Oct. 29 at 2:30 p.m. in exhibition. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with Josh Whtezel and Kevin Sylvester on the call.
The 2022-23 season will mark Head Coach Jim Whitesell's fourth season at the helm for the Bulls and 28th overall. He holds a 55-32 overall record for the Bulls through three seasons. Last season UB finished with a 19-11 record with a trip to Cleveland for the MAC Tournament.
Coming back for the Bulls are the lone senior LaQuill Hardnett and four second-year plays including Kidtrell Blocker, Curtis Jones, Zaakir Williamson, and Kuluel Mading.
Whitesell and his staff added nine newcomers to the roster, six of which are transfers. Kanye Jones (So., Boston College), Sy Chatman (Sr., Illinois State), Isaiah Adams (Jr., UCF), and Jonnivius Smith (Jr., Seton Hall) all bring Division I experience to Buffalo. Armoni Foster (Gr., Indiana University of Pennsylvania) helped take his team to the NCAA Division II semifinals and was a finalist for Division II Player of the Year. Zid Powell (Jr. Harcum Junior College) is among Harcum's all-time leading scorers.
Daemen comes into the contest on top of the East Coast Conference (ECC) in the preseason coaches' poll. Last year the Wildcats put up a 20-9 record with a conference record of 16-2. Daemen Head Caoch Mike MacDonald enters his ninth season for the Wildcats with many accolades including 2018-19 ECC Coach of the Year honors.
UB will open the regular season on Monday, Nov. 7 as they host Colgate at 7 p.m.
